The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Regent of Belu and the Director of UPKM/CD Bethesda YAKKUM on December 8, 2022. The activity which was carried out at the Belu District’s Regional Development Planning Agency Office (BAPPEDA) was attended by Representatives from the Head of Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD), Head of Community Health Center, Urban Village Head, Head of Village, as well as local residents concerned about AIDS (known locally as ‘Warga Peduli AIDS’ or WPA) and Peer Support Group (KDS). The MoU document becomes the legal coverage for the implementation of the Integrated HIV and AIDS Control Program in Belu Regency which will be implemented in 2022 – 2025. The signing of the MoU shows the commitment of the Belu District Government to synergize in the soon-to-be-implemented program. With community participation, cross-sectoral involvement and full support from the Government, it is hoped that the goal of realizing contributions to an integrated prevention program against new HIV infections, as well as support for improving the health and quality of life for PLHIV (People Living with HIV) and people living with PLWHA (People Living with HIV/AIDS) in Belu District can be achieved.
