CD Craft

The CD Craft that was established to develop small entrepreneurial business skills by using trainings and product development alongside marketing in order to help improve the market for local products. This sector supports approximately 30 local artisans (small and micro-businesses) with a work force of around 400 people. Product materials used range from ceramic, silver, bamboo, wood, aluminum, enceng gondok (a kind of river plants) and others that work well for home decoration, exterior, and personal accessories. The batik design is a cultural attribute that often features in our handicrafts. CD Craft’s market works only with international importers. Our diverse buyers are part of the international fair trade network governed by IFAT (International Federation  For Alternative Trade) like Ten Thousand Villages (USA and Canada), CTM Italy, Oxfam Australia, Jambtown USA, and CAS Italy. During the year 2007, CD Bethesda was able to work financially independently and profit sustainable.
